What is kiln dried and sun dried wood?
By Risng Sun / 24th February 2026
Kiln-dried lumber is dried in a controlled chamber to reduce moisture content to a specific level (typically less than 12%), making it more stable and suitable for furniture, interior works, and precision carpentry. Sun-dried lumber is naturally air-dried over time. It is more cost-effective but may have higher and less consistent moisture content, making it better suited for structural or non-precision applications.
